SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 15, 2019) - Yesterday, District 1 City Councilman Roberto Treviño was elected as Chair of the Bexar County Appraisal District (BCAD) by the Appraisal Board of Directors. Treviño has served on the board since January 2014. He represents the City of San Antonio and the San Antonio Independent School District.

“I look forward to working with the appraisal board and Chief Appraiser, Michael Amezquita, to ensure Bexar County residents are equipped with excellent, efficient service during the 2019 tax season and beyond,” said Treviño.

The appraisal district board of directors is limited to hiring the chief appraiser and setting the budget.  The directors have no authority to set values – valuations are determined by Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices.
