SAN ANTONIO (Jan.17, 2019) –“Today's unanimous approval of an ordinance approving a 10 year lease agreement with K9s For Warriors is a perfect example of San Antonio's giving and community spirit.

K9's For Warriors is a 501(c) nonprofit organization that provides service dogs to our veterans who suffer from Post-traumatic Stress Disability as a result of military service post-9/11.

The agreement provides a $1 per-year lease for the land adjacent to the City’s Animal Care Services campus on 4710 Highway 151, where 200 local dogs will be rescued and trained as services animals for adoption and placement with disabled American veterans every year.

Volunteers are needed for large-breed fostering. Please contact Lisa Norwood, at (210)207-6665 or, for more information.

We're proud to do our part to help K9's For Warrior's mission - to empower veterans to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.”
