SAN ANTONIO (February 13, 2018) – “Today’s presentation to Council by the Connect SA Tri-chairs was a clear indication to me that San Antonio has been on the right path. It’s timely because it continues our planning for our city’s projected growth, and it’s needed because our conversation about transportation requires a strong spark.
I want to extend my most sincere thanks to the Tri-Chairs of the Connect SA board, Henry Cisneros, Hope Andrade and Jane Macon, who spent many hours envisioning the best ways to meet San Antonio’s transportation needs and putting the overall plan together.
Many of the elements of the plan are initiatives which are already under way, such as enhanced public transportation, alternate mobility lanes, and increased sidewalk construction. I’m looking forward to working towards bringing all of these elements together under one plan.
We have a lot of work ahead of us which will entail identifying funding sources and listening closely to the community to ensure that all points of view from every area of town are given an opportunity to add to this vital conversation.”
