SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 21, 2019) – As part of ongoing efforts to provide convenient and accessible access to library information and resources for area residents, San Antonio Public Library is now offering live chat available in English, Spanish and French on the library website: mysapl.org.

Patrons may use live chat to ask questions about library policies, obtain help with searching the library catalog, receive assistance with downloading e-books and more.

“We’re excited to provide this additional option for our community to interact with us” [Kathy Donellan, Assistant Library Director of Public Services] said. “We want it to be as easy as possible for customers to take full advantage of the vast array of resources and services our library has to offer.”

The live chat services works in both desktop and mobile internet browsers, allowing users to get help at home or on the go. With a growing number of library resources available online, live chat allows the library to provide more responsive customer service to online visitors.

“A lot of people who use the library regularly don’t always come through our actual locations. Some prefer to access the resources we have available online,” said [Kathy Donellan, Assistant Library Director of Public Services]. “We want to make sure our online patrons receive the same attentive service that patrons who visit us in person enjoy.”

San Antonio Public Library’s live chat service will operate 96 hours per week. Monday through Friday: 7am-10pm, Saturday:  8am -8pm and Sunday: 11am-8pm.

With 30 locations throughout San Antonio, the San Antonio Public Library is dedicated to cultivating a culture of community, literacy, knowledge and understanding. Visit the library website, [mysapl.org] to learn more.
