SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 5, 2019) – The District 6 Spring Food Drive begins March 6 and continues until April 20. Non-perishable items—such as peanut butter, cereal, tuna, beans, rice, mac & cheese, chili, and canned soups—are recommended and readily accepted. Residents may drop-off donations at the Alicia Trevino Lopez Senior Center, the District 6 Field Office, the Henry Guerra Public Library and the Mays Family YMCA at Potranco.

“The San Antonio Food Bank anticipates an increased demand from families seeking services during Spring Break,” comments Councilman Brockhouse. “To address a potential shortage, the team and I are partnering with the Food Bank and asking the community to supplement the food supply. I am confident that the District 6 residents will take responsibility to ensure anyone seeking help can receive it in their time of need.”
