SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 8, 2019) – Today, the Mays Family YMCA at Potranco located at 8765 Hwy 151 Access Rd is celebrating the completion of the City of San Antonio’s newest sports fields with a grand opening ribbon cutting. The fields are all-new youth sports fields intended for baseball, soccer, flag football and the YMCA Summer Day Camp. The family event will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This project is part of the 2017 Bond Program and reflects a partnership between YMCA and the City of San Antonio. The ball fields will provide our youth with additional access to recreation and opportunities to learn about effective teamwork and sportsmanship.

“I am honored to join the Mays Family YMCA and throw the first pitch at today’s memorable event,” reveals Councilman Brockhouse. “The construction of these fields was a longtime coming, but the facility and reaction of the children who will use them is incalculable. Come out and enjoy some music, refreshments and activities for the family!”
