SAN ANTONIO (March 15, 2019) – This Saturday, March 16, residents will be able to enjoy the outdoors at the next Cardio Concert. The workout is free from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at McAllister Park, 13102 Jones Maltsberger Rd. and is part of the Fest of Tails event.

Cardio concert is an initiative of the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department that combines music and fitness. Since its launch in 2018, Cardio Concert has already received the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) Award in Arts and Humanities Programming Achievement.

Annually the Cultural Division offers a youth music pre-professional development program called Take Note Youth Band. The goal of Take Note Youth Band is to expose aspiring teen musicians and singers to a variety of music genres and offer them the opportunity to perform for large audiences. Fitness in the Park is a robust and innovative fitness program that offers hundreds of free fitness opportunities monthly to the community at various parks and facilities throughout the year. Cardio Concert merges the two programs by offering a free fitness class accompanied by live music from the Take Note Youth Band.
This unique experience attracts both music and fitness lovers and offers a memorable experience while being exposed to our fitness programs, cultural programs and City parks.
