SAN ANTONIO (March 21, 2019) –The House of Neighborly Service (HNS), established in San Antonio’s westside in 1917, will move forward with facility rehabilitation and expansion plans thanks to the City Council’s approval of $250,000 of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.
“The facility rehabilitation and expansion will allow HNS to provide its family support, child development, senior services and food security services to more Westside families,” said District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales.
“The House of Neighborly has been a pillar of District 5 community service since it was first established as a Presbyterian mission more than 100 years ago. This funding will help assure that HSN continues to provide its valuable service to our families for years to come,” she added.
