SAN ANTONIO  (April 18, 2019) – Fiesta! Fiesta! Fiesta! It can be defined as a large celebration or party and that’s exactly what happened at San Antonio International Airport. Hundreds of airline and airport employees, their families and even travelers participated in the Second Annual Fiesta San Jacinto Day Parade. Mariachi music, a mixture of handmade parade floats, mascots and festive colors flowed throughout both terminals of the airport.

“The parade showcased our beautiful city and our vibrant culture and it invited travelers to participate in our authentic celebration,” said Russ Handy, Aviation Director for the City of San Antonio.

A panel of judges picked the winners of this year’s parade based on their creativity, spirit and inventiveness. The panel included Marco Barros, president and CEO of the San Antonio Area Tourism Council, Michael Quintanilla, pop culture and fashion expert and Giovanna DiZurita, artist/arts influencer. The grand prize winner and Best of Show was awarded to Southwest Airlines. United Airlines received the first place trophy and HMS Host/La Gloria Restaurant won second place and the team from  American Airlines grabbed the third place trophy.
