Plaza Guadalupe Movie Nights return! Catch a FREE outdoor, family friendly movie screening on the first and third Fridays, August through October.

 

SAN ANTONIO (July 29, 2019) – The City of San Antonio invites the community to visit Market Square, La Villita, Plaza Guadalupe, and Houston Street this month for a wide variety of events.

 

Market Square Events (514 W. Commerce Street)
Primer Sabado: Cumbia Saturday – Classic Rock Sunday
Saturday, August 3 – Sunday, August 4, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., FREE

Labor Day Weekend at Market Square
Saturday, August 31 – Monday, September 2, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.; FREE
Enjoy your three-day weekend at the Historic Market Square!  This family-friendly event features food and musical entertainment including rock, country, and of course Tejano. For more information, please visit the Market Square Facebook page.

 

La Villita Events (418 Villita Street)
Fiesta Noche del Rio
Fridays and Saturdays, August 2-3 and 9-10
La Villita welcomes the annual Fiesta Noche del Rio event back to the Arneson River Theatre. This musical event features Mexican, Spanish and Texas songs and musical performances. Fiesta Noche del Rio is an annual fund raising project held Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m., through August 10. Plaza Guadalupe Movie Nights
Friday, August 2 and 16, activities begin at 7 p.m.; movie begins at dusk, FREE

Houston Street Placemaking + Programming Info Session
Tuesday, August 20, 5-6:30 p.m., FREE (registration required)
Join Centro San Antonio and the Center City Development and Operations Department for a "Pecha Kucha" style event featuring major downtown event producers. Learn about their experiences in activating Houston Street and opportunities for you to collaborate. Light refreshments will be provided, and free parking is available at the Rand Parking Garage.
