SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 30, 2019) — The City of San Antonio’s Planning Department invites the community to participate in the 36th Annual National Night Out, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
National Night Out events encourage neighbors to get to know one another, rediscover their own communities, and share their values and ideas for making their neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.
The Planning Department will be visiting with residents in neighborhoods along two of the Department’s corridor revitalization projects, near the Bandera Road in Council Districts 7 and 8 and the Northeast Corridor area along Nacogdoches/Perrin Beitel in Council District 10. The purpose of this outreach is to actively join in community building and to continue community awareness about ongoing planning projects that allow residents to participate directly in planning for the future of their community. Participation in these events will give Planning staff and residents the opportunity to talk about where future development might occur, how we get around the community, where we shop and play, and how to continue protecting our environment - all while enjoying hotdogs and freshly-made burgers.
The Department will continue to meet with the community regularly to gather community input for these SA Tomorrow-related projects.
