Grammy Award Winner and one of the architects for pop music of the 21st century, Jody Watley, performs for the first time in San Antonio. Known for her groundbreaking marriage of rap & R&B, as well as her fusion of jazz and underground club culture, Jody is now in everyone’s playbook. Her cool style, along with her eclectic repertoire, is sure to bring high energy! Watley opens the Carver season on Saturday, October 19, 8 PM. jodywatley.net

The Carver Development Board’s annual fundraiser, Cavalcade of the Stars takes place at the Henry B. González Convention Center featuring R&B sensation, Johnny Gill. Evening activities will include a reception, silent auction and dinner followed by the Johnny Gill concert! Gill is sure to serenade the audience with his latest hit, “Soul of a Woman” and his all-time favorites like, “Red Dress,” “Rub You the Right Way.” All proceeds benefit the Carver’s education programs.
