CONTACT: Landry Stafford, (281) 669-7022

SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 15, 2019) – Today, we are reminded of the dangerous nature of the job that our public safety officers perform each day. The following statement was released in response to today’s tragic loss of SAFD fireman Greg Garza:

“I was truly heartbroken to learn of the passing of firefighter Greg Garza. Our first responders risk their lives to keep the community safe. Greg Garza was tragically killed performing the routine duties of his job. I ask that we keep his family and fellow San Antonio Fire Department brothers and sisters in our prayers, and that we continue to support one another through this difficult time.

Let this tragedy serve as a reminder to us to do our part to protect our first responders. Slow down, move over and use caution. We owe it to these men and women to keep them safe.”
