“Today our city mourns the loss of one of our selfless and courageous San Antonio Fire Department firefighters, Greg Garza. My deepest prayers and condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Garza, a 17-year veteran of the department. I ask that you please keep his family and fellow firefighters in your thoughts and prayers as we all grieve this devastating loss. Thank you to all of our first responders who put their lives on the line for the city of San Antonio every day,” said Councilwoman Viagran.

Along with prayers for the department and Greg’s family, SAFD asks everyone to remember to watch out for first responders when driving. Please pay attention to what is ahead of you. Please do not rubber-neck. Please slow down. Please pull over if necessary.
