SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 15, 2019) — San Antonio Firefighter, Greg Garza, was struck and killed by a vehicle while responding to an electrical fire this Tuesday morning. The Councilman issued the following statement on the tragedy.

“My heart goes out to the family of Greg Garza and to the entire SAFD family. I received a glimpse of who Greg Garza was from Fire Chief Hood and know our City is truly blessed to have brave men like Garza serve and protect us every day. He will be remembered as a hero and missed every day. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and our community of first responders. Please remember to allow our first responders the space they need to keep us safe. It’s always important to respect police and fire at work.”
