SAN ANTONIO, TX (10.31.2019) — Join thousands of people during Thanksgiving week for the premier of GLO, Hot Air Balloon & Music Festival at the Alamodome Parking Lot B from Nov. 28 through Dec.1, 2019. Come witness what is described as “An Amazing Performance! A Balloon Festival that manifests itself into a fantastic show captivating the crowd from beginning to end.” Colorful shapes will inflate while music, lights and special effects dazzle and bring smiles to all ages.

Families and their visiting guests are invited each evening to gather with fellow spectators to experience these magical balloon giants up close as part of GLO’s ever popular “Balloon Glow & Show.” “A balloon glow is a gathering of hot air balloons that inflate at night. When the burners are ignited, the balloons come to life with brightly glowing colors and the roar of the burners. It will be a spectacular display of color and sound within the magical nighttime ambiance of the Alamodome and downtown San Antonio,” says event promoter Bill Pletch.

Want to get that experience and “feeling” of a balloon flight without leaving the venue? A purchased Hot Air Tethered Balloon ride is a great way to enjoy the experience. A tethered balloon is securely anchored to the ground via a series of high-tensile strength ropes. During a tethered ride, passengers climb aboard the aircraft for a short ride. This is ideal for people with fears of flying or heights. Then, the hot air balloon ascends to a predetermined 50 ft. or less height above the ground and crowd. Tethered Balloon Rides are sold in advance and at the event, but are weather dependent and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The festival grounds are open 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving evening (11/28), Friday (11/29) and Saturday (11/30) from 4:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. and Sunday (12/01) from 4:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Tickets to the festival start at $10 for children, military and seniors, adult tickets at $20. VIP and corporate packages are available. Parking in Alamodome Lot C is $10 on Thursday evening and $15 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. VIP packages and tickets may be purchased online at No Coolers, glass, pets, food & drinks, bottles or cans are permitted on the premises. Lawn chairs & blankets are welcome.
