SAN ANTONIO (January 27, 2020) — This past Saturday, January 25, the Mission San Jose Neighborhood Association (MSJNA) took initiative and partnered with the City Council District 3 office to launch the inaugural Beautification Project on the Roosevelt corridor in and around the World Heritage area.
MSJNA worked with District 3 and utilized the City of San Antonio’s Dial-A-Trailer to help tackle trash and brush along Roosevelt Avenue. There were almost 20 volunteers and they collected trash, tire debris, shopping carts, bottles and cans and other non-biodegradable items. They plan to make this a quarterly cleanup event and are calling for volunteers to help for future gatherings.
“It’s projects like these that help bring the community together. I am proud to support the Mission San Jose neighborhood with their cleanup efforts. It is a monumental year for them and for the City of San Antonio as we lead up to the 300th anniversary of Mission San Jose,” said Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran.
