The ongoing pandemic has led the way to changes everywhere in our world – and how we work at San Antonio Animal Care Services is no exception. In the last few months, we’ve shifted how we operate at the shelter to be able to continue to serve our community.
These changes have given us an opportunity to streamline processes in accordance with both social distancing guidelines and efficiency. Starting Monday, July 20th, we will shift weekday hours of operation from 1pm to 7pm on our campus off State Highway 151.
With this change, we will be able to:
- Allow additional cleaning time for added safety measures.
- Concentrate shelter staffing levels during peak business hours.
- Practice more enrichment activities and training for the pets in our care.
We will continue to work on an appointment-only basis for adoption, foster, and other on-site shelter services to ensure that our staff and visitors can be safe and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Appointments can be make for available ACS services, including adoptions, viewing pets, foster pickups and more by visiting saacs.info/adopt
Our weekend hours will not be affected, and will continue to be 11am-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
With these changes, we hope to be able to focus more on each potential adopter and visitor, as well as continue to provide excellent care for our pets. Be assured, our Animal Care Officers, Animal Care Attendants, along with our Veterinary team, will not be affected by our new campus hours.
