SAN ANTONIO (September 22, 2020) – The City of San Antonio issued the following statement regarding the Texas Historical Commission’s vote on the Alamo Plan.

“City of San Antonio worked in good faith to develop a plan with our project partners, including the Texas General Land Office, Alamo Trust and the public to do something truly transformational with this iconic site. Unfortunately, after tonight’s disappointing vote to deny the restoration and relocation of the Cenotaph, the Alamo Master Plan remains a plan without a project.

We want to thank the hard work of the Alamo Citizens Advisory Committee members and the thousands of people who participated and supported the development of this vision over the last six years.  The project partners will discuss next steps in the coming days.” – Assistant City Manager Lori Houston.
