SAN ANTONIO — All Pre-K 4 SA East Education Center staff have tested negative for COVID-19, with the exception of the four positive staff members announced yesterday.
Testing of students and families is occurring today, and the results are anticipated tomorrow.

At this time, the Pre-K 4 SA East Education Center will remain closed through Tuesday, October 26th pending test results of children and families. Pre-K 4 SA anticipates receiving the additional test results tomorrow and will determine next steps based on that information.

“We are happy to learn that no additional staff have tested positive and are hopeful the same will be true for children. We will continue to consult with Metro Health as we work through our protocols designed to keep children, families and staff safe.” said Pre-K 4 SA CEO Dr. Sarah Baray.

Background
Four staff members and one child at Pre-K 4 SA’s East Education Center tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.

Immediately after receiving notification of the confirmed cases, Pre-K 4 SA implemented the following response protocols:

  • conducted contact tracing;
  • identified children and staff needing to quarantine; and
  • cleaned and disinfected the building.

Additionally, working with Metro Health, Pre-K 4 SA arranged for testing of all Center staff as well as children and families in classrooms with a staff member who is positive.
