SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 3, 2020) – The San Antonio Airport System (SAAS) celebrates the selection of our city for the Routes Americas Conference in 2022. Routes Americas is one of the largest air service conferences in the region focused on connecting airports with senior decision makers from airlines, airports, destinations, aircraft manufacturers and air service development strategists.
The event will be one of the first major air service development post-pandemic, in-person conferences, providing valuable networking and air service network planning meetings. The Routes Americas Conference is expected to attract more than 1000 delegates from domestic and international airlines, airports and tourism authorities in the Americas. In 2020, 90 carriers were represented.
As the host, SAAS will have an unprecedented opportunity to introduce San Antonio to airline leadership and network executives and to educate them on new industry segments, rapid market growth and economic opportunities to support new routes.
“Air service development is a key priority for the city and SAAS. Routes Americas is an unparalleled opportunity to showcase our great city directly to the decision makers as well as bring a much-needed boost to our hospitality community utilizing our world class convention center, hotel rooms, venues and restaurants. I know attendees will be thrilled to return to in-person meetings in February 2022,” said Jesus H. Saenz, Jr., Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System.
