SAN ANTONIO (June 9, 2021) – Metro Health celebrates Pride Month by hosting a “Take Pride in Your Health’ event from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at Luther’s Café, 1503 N. Main Ave.

A vaccine pop-up clinic will be set up from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. across the street from Luther’s inside the Heat nightclub, where the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be given. No appointment is needed.

For Pride Month, Metro Heath is encouraging the community to “Take Pride in Your Health.” Join us for a panel presentation on important health information. Topics include the importance of getting the COVID-19 vaccine, health screenings as an opportunity to know your status, and the public health approach to violence prevention. The event will also feature special performances and door prizes will be given.

“This event is not just for the LGBTQ community but for anyone in the neighborhood who would like to celebrate Pride Month, get a COVID-19 vaccine and learn about maintaining and improving overall health and wellness,” said Dr. Anita Kurian, Metro Health Assistant Director.
