SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 4, 2015) — “I have appointed Lt. General (retired) Noel Thomas Jones to serve as the City’s Aviation Director on a temporary basis. Tom’s appointment begins January 11, 2016 and will be for a 12-month period while the City conducts a national search for a permanent Director. As we embark on this search, we will be seeking a leader to take the airport to a higher level with a particular focus on enhanced customer service and securing more nonstop flights, both domestically and internationally.
Tom retired from the Air Force on September 1, 2015. His final post was as Vice Commander of all US Air Forces in Europe. A 1980 graduate of the US Air Force Academy, Tom has held numerous leadership positions overseeing airfields in the Air Force, and I am confident in his ability to lead the Aviation Department.
Effectively immediately, Frank Miller has resigned from the City of San Antonio. We thank him for his contributions to the San Antonio International Airport and wish him well in future endeavors.”
