Volunteers allow us to give our animals the care and attention they require and deserve. Our volunteers assist in our kennels, with adoptions, in our vet clinic and with other administrative duties.
Volunteer opportunities are available seven days a week at our main campus at 4710 Hwy 151, several cat adoption centers inside PetCo and PetSmart locations and at off-site adoption events.

Help us preserve San Antonio’s history! You can volunteer to become a tour guide, help us with historic surveys and many fun community events. You also have the opportunity to get hands-on experience in minor repairs and maintenance of historic property with our S.T.A.R. program.

Library lovers are welcome to join our team! Tasks include assisting new computer users, working with the Genealogy Department, sorting book returns, book repair or greeting patrons at the Central Library.
Special opportunities exist for teen volunteers seeking leadership activities. Many branches have Teen Library Leadership Councils where you will help plan the direction of teen library activities.

Join the growing team of volunteers beautifying our City parks! Our volunteer opportunities include landscaping, tree planting, and conservation education activities to promote a sustainable environment and improve the quality of life for all.
