Don't miss the live art, music, and fun at Restored By Light: Reinspired!

As part of San Antonio's Tricentennial celebrations, we are pleased to expand the popular Restored By Light event to Mission San Juan (with a twist!) Our other events such as Restored By Light 2018 allow spectators to glimpse the historic appearance of the once-brightly painted missions.

This event will be held at Mission San Juan where there is no evidence of historic frescoes. However, we are inspired by our rich history and culture and will project a once-in-a-lifetime artistic interpretation onto the facade of the mission.

About This Event

Restored By Light is a community-wide showcase of the intricate and vivid frescoes that were once visible on the facades of San Antonio's Missions. Widely-proclaimed as an inspiring and exciting celebration of culture, art, and heritage, Restored By Light attracts over 3,000 attendees at each event. Read more...

The first Restored By Light event was held in 2015 at Mission Concepcion, where there is the most remaining evidence of the frescoes. The event gave the community a chance to experience and enjoy the mission is in original appearance without creating permanent changes which could affect the authenticity of the site. In 2016, Restored By Light was expanded to include the “Queen of the Missions” Mission San Jose.
