The Living Heritage Symposium is a gathering of cultural heritage experts—from policy-makers to activists—working together to develop best practices for the treatment of cultural heritage, including intangible heritage. It is a solutions-driven event that uses the World Café format so participants may engage with each other to draft action steps for managing living heritage and urban development. This year the symposium will integrate the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals in the discussions.
A “Cultural Extravaganza” featuring performances and cuisines of San Antonio’s many cultures will open the symposium. This festive event will take place at the renowned Institute of Texan Cultures. A tour of San Antonio's Legacy Businesses and living heritage performances will highlight the symposium.
