Before Getting Started WITH a DESIGN

OHP staff reviews projects for conformance with the City of San Antonio's Unified Development Code and applicable design guidelines that have been adopted by City Council. It is important for applicants to review and understand the applicable process and review requirements prior to committing to a design. As staff, our primary role is to serve as a resource for you to be successful in your next project and help you understand what to expect in the design review process.

Thinking about doing a project in a historic district and don't know where to start? The SApreservation Design Resource Center provides examples of application materials, architectural details, and informational links to make the design review process as quick and easy as possible!

We also recommend reaching out to a design review team member in advance of completing an online application. Areas assigned to case managers are listed below:
