Lori Steward
Human Resources Director
Career
Lori Steward was appointed Human Resources Director
in July 2015. As the Human Resources Director, she is
responsible for all aspects of Human Resources
including Employee Benefits, Wellness, Recruitment, Civil Service Testing, Affirmative Action,
Equal Employment Opportunity, Classification & Compensation, Employee Relations, Municipal
Integrity, and Employee Development & Training.
Ms. Steward joined the City of San Antonio in September 2013 as Deputy Human Resources Director
working with Police and Fire Collective Bargaining issues along with Human Resources Department
operational oversight. Prior to joining the City of San Antonio, she worked 29 years for the City
of Phoenix, Arizona in increasingly responsible Human Resources positions including Human Resources
Officer, Human Resources Supervisor, Deputy Human Resources Director, and Labor
Relations Administrator.
