Water exercise is therapeutic, low impact and is great for your heart. Classes are offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. during the outdoor pool season. The cost is $30 for a one-month pass for anyone 15 or older. Offered at Kingsborough, San Pedro, South Side Lions, and Woodlawn Lake pools. Ten participants needed in order to hold classes.
A competitive youth swim program is offered at all 24 outdoor pool locations during the outdoor pool season. There is a one-time registration fee of $10 per child, which includes a t-shirt. (A fee increase was effective with the FY14 budget which increased the fee to $10). Participants practice Tuesday - Friday in order to compete against other pools in three weekend meets.
