Solar in San Antonio

Small Solar Covered Parking

Our goal is to make San Antonio carbon neutral by 2050—meaning that three decades from now, our city will contribute no net carbon into the atmosphere. This goal, though grand, is attainable. However, we can’t do it without your help. Below are a few resources that will help you get started (at home or at your business). Increasing carbon-free energy is one of the single most impactful actions we can take to slow climate change.

In 2018, San Antonio was recognized as the #7 city in the nation and 1st in Texas for locally installed solar photovoltaic capacity. Get a quick overview of usable sunlight per year, estimated square footage and potential savings by visiting Google’s Project Sunroof. All you have to do is enter the address.

Learn how solar energy works, if your building is solar ready, and what to consider when purchasing a system by working with Bring Solar Home. It is a free and unbiased program that serves as a technical consumer decision tool for solar options in San Antonio.

Did you know that CPS Energy provides solar rebates? See if your residential or commercial project would be eligible.
